Pianello Val Tidone

Pianello Val Tidone is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 2281 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Piacenza in Emilia -Romagna. The community is located about 29 kilometers southwest of Piacenza on Tidone, opens the Chiarone here in the, and belongs to the Comunità Montana del valle Tidone.

History

From the 7th century, the settlement has been demonstrated as a possession of the abbey of St. Columban in Bobbio. The former castle was razed by Frederick Barbarossa in 1164. The attachment on the 564 m high Rocca d_Olgisio from the 5th century can still be seen today.
