Picea crassifolia

Picea crassifolia is a species of the family (Pinaceae ). It is native to northern China.

Description

Picea crassifolia grows as a evergreen tree that can reach heights of growth of up to 25 meters and diameter at breast height of up to 60 centimeters. The hairy or hairless bark of the branches is at first greenish yellow and discolored light violet with time to brownish yellow. In the second year, it is usually blue-green, rarely yellow.

The cone- shaped winter buds are usually not resinous. The sharp needles are 1.2 to 3.5 inches long and 0.2 to 0.3 inches wide. They have a square cross-section. Your tip is blunt or mucronate. On the needle top, there are five to seven and the bottom four to six Stomatalinien.

Picea crassifolia is monoecious - getrenntgeschlechtig ( monoecious ) and the flowering season extends from April to May The cones are cylindrical in shape with a length of 7-11 cm and a thickness of 2 to 3.5 centimeters and ripen from September to October. The inverted egg-shaped seeds are about 3.5 millimeters long and have a wing which is about 9 millimeters long.

Distribution and location

The natural range of Picea crassifolia is located in China. It includes where the location in Inner Mongolia Helan Mountains and the Daqing Shan, the provinces of Gansu and Ningxia, as well as in the northeastern Qinghai Qilian Shan located and the area around the Qinghai Lake.

Picea crassifolia grows at altitudes 1600-3800 meters.

Picea crassifolia is classified as " not at risk " in the IUCN Red List. It is noted, however, that a re-examination of risk is necessary.

The wood of Picea crassifolia is utilized.
