Pico da Neblina

The Pico da Neblina is about 2994 m the highest mountain in Brazil. He lies both in Brazil and in Venezuela and belongs to the so-called tepuis. The top of Neblina is located in the 22,000 km ² Pico da Neblina National Park, in the state of Amazonas. The nearest town, São Gabriel da Cachoeira is about 140 km away.

The Pico da Neblina is part of the Serra -do- Imeri massif. The second highest mountain Pico 31 de Março with 2973 m is also located in the Pico da Neblina - National Park. Neblina is the Portuguese word for fog. In 1965, its first ascent was held by members of the Brazilian armed forces.
