The piece rate is defined as REFA

" A remuneration policy, in which the wage is differentiated requirement- and performance-based as a rule. As a performance factor beyond the control of the crowd or the power derived from time degree is used. The efficiency rate is based on a specific reference power. "

The basic distinction between time and money chord, wherein the chord time is the more common form. It is based on a preset time per order or per unit ( per unit time ). The chord is typically designed as a chord surcharge, which is added to a qualifying monthly fee. The so-called piecework rate is determined from the basic pay and the chord surcharge.

When money chord there is not the base rate. The fee is achieved entirely through the crowd. So: Double the amount also leads to a double payment. In mining, this chord is called a hired house.

Disadvantages

The following significant disadvantages are the reason for the almost complete withdrawal of the chord from the practice in the last decade.

Formulas for calculating

Piece time piece rate

By exact time and motion studies, the default time is determined. It is the time for the completion of a work task with average performance. With it can be calculated back to the normal performance: Normal output per hour = 60: set time.

1 Determination of the piecework rate ( hourly earnings at normal power)

= Base rate chord surcharge Second factor determining the minutes

= Piecework rate: 60 3 Determination of the standard time

= 60: Average performance 4 Determination of gross salary

= Factor * minutes set time * done piece 5 Determination of the performance level

= ( Actual power: Normal power) * 100 Piece of money piecework

First determine the sum of money set

= Piecework rate: Normal power 2 Determination of the gross wage

= Sum of money set * actual power measurement Examples

The amount can be measured by various criteria:

  • Number of machined pieces
  • Length of the machined workpiece,
  • Surface which was processed
  • Weight of the pieces produced
  • Weight that was moved
  • Volume of the processed product
  • Etc.
