Pieljekaise National Park

The Swedish Pieljekaise National Park is located about ten kilometers south of Jäckvik in the community Arjeplog in the landscape Lapland. It covers an area of ​​153.4 km ².

Pieljekaise was the conservation of montane, urwaldartigem birch forest in its natural state around the mountain of the same name established in 1909 ( Sami for " Ohrenberg ", 1133 m). In the southern part of the park are several lakes, habitat for numerous char.

Access

The Pieljekaise National Park is located off public roads, the Royal Trail long distance footpath leads from Jäkkvik about six or Adolfström about nine kilometers there. The park has a lodge, which is also suitable for overnight stays.
