Life

After Pier Luigi's father had been elected pope in 1534, this 1537 appointed him Gonfaloniere of the Catholic Church, made ​​him the Duke of Castro and paid him generously with possessions. Pier Luigi Farnese was acting as mediator between Pope and Emperor Charles V in the sequence, so the 1538 appointed him Marquis of Novara.
