Pier Miranda Ferraro

Pier Miranda Ferraro (* 1924 in Altivole, Province of Treviso, Pietro Ferraro, † January 18, 2008 in Milan ) was an Italian operatic tenor.

Ferraro was trained in Milan by Mirko Bonomi at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice and Aureliano Pertile of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. He began his career in the early 1950s; In 1951 he became known for his performances of Verdi at La Scala. He entered the world on to many famous opera houses, especially in Vienna, London and South America. In 1959 he sang alongside Maria Callas in a studio recording of the opera La Gioconda by Amilcare Ponchielli. In 1981 he ended his active work and founded an agency for the placement of singers, conductors and directors.
