Piera Aulagnier

Piera Aulagnier (born Spairani; * 1923 in Milan, † 1990) was a French psychoanalyst and psychiatrist who specialized in working with psychotics.

Aulagnier spent the first years of her life with her parents in Egypt and studied medicine in Rome. In 1950 she went to Paris, completed her psychiatric training and graduated from 1955 to 1961 a training analysis with Jacques Lacan. He followed it in 1964 in the newly founded Ecole freudienne de Paris, in which she worked as a training analyst. Five years later, she left school after an argument with Lacan and founded together with François Perrier and Jean -Paul Valabrega the Quatrième Groupe. In 1967 he founded the journal L' Inconscient along with Conrad Stein and Jean Clavreul, two years later, the magazine Topique. In 1975, she married Cornelius Castoriadis.

A common criticism of the structural psychoanalysis says that they forget the body. Piera Aulagnier us the emergence of fantasies and words of a child closely related to its physical experience. Building on Freud, Lacan and Klein, it has its own terms as the Primary, the icon or the narcissistic contract developed that are far rezipiert neither philosophical nor psychoanalytic theories in the German-speaking countries. Not a single one of her books has been translated into German.
