Pierce County is a county located in the state of Nebraska in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Pierce.

Geography

The County is located in northeastern Nebraska, is located in the north about 50 miles from South Dakota and has an area of 1490 square kilometers, of which 3 square miles is water area. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Cedar County, Wayne County, Madison County, Antelope County and Knox County.

History

Pierce County was formed in 1856. It was named after President Franklin Pierce.
