Piero Strozzi

Piero Strozzi (* 1510 in Florence, † June 21, 1558 in Thionville ) was a member of the Florentine patrician family Strozzi and Condottiere. His father was Filippo Strozzi the Younger ( il Giovane ) ( 1488-1538 ), his mother Clara de ' Medici ( 1493-1528 ), sister of Lorenzo II de Medici. His brother was Leone Strozzi.

Life

He studied at Padua in 1529 and then returned to Florence. On August 1, 1537 fought ( and defeated ), he in his father's and his brother's side in the battle of Montemurlo.
