Pierpont Township is one of 27 townships of Ashtabula County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 1197 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Pierpont Township lies to the east of Ashtabula County in the far northeast Ohio, is located in the north about 20 km from Lake Erie, on the east by Pennsylvania and clockwise in the townships: Monroe Township, Beaver Township, Crawford County (Pennsylvania), Conneaut Township in Erie County ( Pennsylvania), Richmond Township, Dorset Township, Denmark Township and Sheffield Township.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
