Pierre Aubert
Pierre Aubert ( born March 3, 1927 in La Chaux -de-Fonds ) is a Swiss politician ( SP) from the canton of Neuchatel. As he was Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs and has held the office of president twice.
Career
He studied law and graduated with licentiate. 1952-1977 he was a self-employed lawyer. 1971-1977 he was the President of the Council of the University of Neuchâtel.
His political offices were the Cantonal 1961-1975 and the Senate from 1971 to 1977. 1969 he was Cantonal President and CEO from 1974 to 1977 in the Euro Europe in Strasbourg. He was elected to the Federal Council on 7 December 1977. On December 31, 1987, he resigned. He is a member of the Social Democratic Party ( SP). During his tenure, he stood in front of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs.
He was President in 1983 and 1987 and Vice President in 1982 and 1986.
