Pierre de Boissieu

Pierre de Boissieu ( born June 14, 1945) is a French diplomat.

Pierre de Boissieu was since 18 October 1999 Deputy Secretary-General of the EU Council of Ministers under Javier Solana, who was also High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. At the Special Summit of the European Council on 19 November 2009 in Brussels, it was decided that de Boissieu the place of the Secretary-General takes over, which was divided by the Treaty of Lisbon again from the High Representative. He was, therefore, " the right hand of the future president ."

On June 26, 2011 de Boissieu was replaced in the function of the Secretary General of the German chancellery officials Uwe Corsepius.
