Pierre Dolbeault

Pierre Dolbeault (* 1924) is a French mathematician.

Dolbeault is a student of Henri Cartan and made his degree in 1944 from the Ecole Normale Superieure. He taught in the 1950s in Montpellier and Bordeaux, and later at the Institut de Mathématiques Jussieu at the University of Paris VI (Pierre et Marie Curie ). With Pierre Lelong, Henri Skoda and he had long been an Analysis seminar in Paris.

He deals with function theory, theory of residues, for example, in several dimensions. According to him, the Dolbeault operator and the Dolbeault cohomology are named.
