Pierre Galin

Pierre Galin (* 1786, † August 31, 1821 in Paris) was a French music theorist.

Galin studied mathematics at the Ecole Polytechnique mathematics. Starting from the idea of ​​Zahlentonschriften Rousseau, he developed a method of music education, which he published in his book Exposition d' une nouvelle pour method Venseignement de la musique 1818 in Bordeaux.

This method, which he developed together with his sister and his brother- Aimé Paris and from 1819 practiced in Paris, became known as a method Galin - Paris - CHEVE and found throughout Europe and the U.S. application. Further publications on the method published by his pupils Edouard Jue, Aime Lemoine and Philippe de Geslin.
