Pierre Gauthier

Pierre Gauthier ( born May 28, 1953 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey official in the National Hockey League.

Career

Gauthier began his career in the National Hockey League with the Quebec Nordiques, where he held various positions 1981-1993 in the field scouting. He then joined the newly formed franchise of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, for which he worked as an assistant general manager until 1995, before he joined the Ottawa Senators, with whom he received the post of General Manager. For the Canadians, he signed a five- year contract. Parallel to his tenure in Ottawa Gauthier supervised the Canadian national hockey team as General Manager at the World Championships in 1997 and 1998, and with Bob Clarke and Bob Gainey at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.

Gauthier broke his contract in Ottawa to form a weakness of the team in 1998 after three years early on and returned to his former club back to Anaheim, where until 2002 he served as President and General Manager.

On July 21, 2003 Pierre Gauthier joined the Montreal Canadiens as head of the scouting department. On 24 July 2006 he was appointed Assistant General Manager and led parallel continues the line of the scouting department. Between February 2010 and March 2012, he was general manager of the Canadiens.
