Pierre Gendron

Raoul Pierre Gendron ( born May 1, 1916 in Saint- Hyacinthe, Quebec, † 16 February 1984) was a Canadian scientist.

Gendron was from 1953 to 1962 the first dean of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences at the University of Ottawa.

As President of the Board of the Dow Breweries, he convinced the Brewers to finance a planetarium in Montreal; as the Dow Planetarium was created under his aegis.

In 1970 he was awarded " for his scientific and administrative contribution to the promotion of the industry and his service to society," the title of Companion of the Order of Canada.
