Pierre Georget

Pierre Georget ( born August 9, 1917 in Chatellerault, † August 1, 1964 in Paris) was a French racing cyclist.

1936 was the most successful year in the cycling career of Pierre Georget: In the UCI Track World Championships 1936 in Zurich, he was vice-champion in the sprint of the professionals behind the Dutchman Arie van Vliet. At the Olympic Games in Berlin, he won two medals, a silver in the 1,000 -meter time trial (again behind van Vliet ) and a bronze in tandem race, together with Georges Maton. The French duo lost in the semifinals against the later gold medalist from Germany, Ernst Ihbe and Carl Lorenz. The following year, Georget was in Ordrup in Copenhagen for a second time vice-champion in the sprint, behind the Dutch Jef van de Vijver.

Pierre Georget came from a successful cycling - Family: He was the son of Léon Georget and the nephew of Emile Georget.
