Pierre Hedin

Pierre Hedin ( born February 19, 1978 in Örnsköldsvik ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is under contract with Timrå IK in the Elitserien since 2011.

Career

The 1.86 m tall defender started his career in the youth teams of MoDo Hockey Örnsköldsvik, for which he eventually played until the end of the 2002/ 03 in the first Elitserien. NHL Entry Draft 1999, he was selected as the 239th in the eighth round by the Toronto Maple Leafs ( drafted ).

However, for the Maple Leafs, he completed only three NHL games and changed after a year back to MoDo. In the 2005/06 season the Swede stood for the DEL - record champion Adler Mannheim on the ice, but on the HC Ambri -Piotta he came back in 2006 again returned to his home club, with whom he will, for the first time in his career Swedish Champion 2007 could. For the 2009/10 season Hedin signed a contract with ERC Ingolstadt in DEL. However, the club parted already in the preparation of the player who then moved to his home to Södertälje SK. There he played for two years, before the 2011/12 season the league rivals Timrå IK joined.

Internationally

For the Swedish national ice hockey team Pierre Hedin graduated from the U-20 Junior World Cup in 1998, for the seniors, he stood at the 2002 World Cup on the ice.
