Pierre-Jules Boulanger

Pierre -Jules Boulanger (* March 10, 1885 in Sin -le -Noble, † November 11, 1950 in Broût - Vernet ( Allier ) as a result of a car accident ) was a French development engineer and CEO of the company Citroen.

Life

After immigrating to the U.S. in 1908 he found work at a power company, and later in an architect's office. In 1911 he founded a construction company in Canada. During the First World War, he served as a fighter pilot. 1919 joined the company Michelin and got 1922 on the management board. In 1934, he joined the company Citroën, where he became CEO in 1937.

On November 11, 1950 he was driving a test vehicle on the National Highway 7 Paris, Clermont- Ferrand at an accident. He is considered the spiritual father of the 2CV, the so-called " duck ".
