Pierre Kerkhoff ( born March 26, 1936 in Geleen, Netherlands ) is a former Dutch football player.

Career

Kerkhoff is the son of a miner from the region of the Dutch state mines in the province of Limburg. He began his career at local club Maurits. Later he went to the Enschedese Boys, and from there to the first professional sports station Enschede club, for whom he played from 1959 to 1961; In his first season he was there next to veteran Abe Lenstra. Subsequently, the striker moved as the successor of Piet Kruiver to PSV Eindhoven. He captured directly a regular place, scored 19 goals and was runner-up Dutch with PSV. The following season, 1962/63 PSV won the championship, Kerkhoff was top scorer with 22 goals the Eredivisie. He played one more season in Eindhoven and then went to Switzerland to Lausanne Sports, for whom he played from 1964 to 1971. In the season 1964/65 he scored 19 goals in the league and was also Swiss scorer. In Europe Cup Winners' Cup in the same year, he scored six goals for Lausanne and thus was also there leading scorer.

National

Kerkhoff denied 1960-1965 a total of 5 caps for the Netherlands national football team. For the first time it Bondscoach Elek Schwartz moved to a Central America Travel Oranje Oranje on 26 June 1960 in Mexico City in a match against Mexico, the lost Dutchman 1:3. On the same trip was followed by a 20 -minute operation in Willemstad against the Netherlands Antilles (0:0) and a complete game in and against Suriname ( 4:3). His last assignment, also over 90 minutes, Kerkhoff had again almost three years later, on April 7, 1965 under coach Denis Neville.
