Pierre Lantier

Pierre Lantier ( born April 30, 1910 in Marseille, † April 4, 1998 in Ollioules ) was a French composer and music educator.

Lantier studied at the Conservatoire de Paris by Henri Busser, André Bloch, Georges Caussade and Philippe Gaubert and won the 1937 Second Grand Prix de Rome. He looked at the Conservatoire de Paris and at the Ecole de musique normal as professor of harmony. On him the interpretation of international competition Concours Pierre Lantier returns. Lantier was married to the composer Paule Maurice.

In addition to a 1969 incurred Requiem composed Lantier mainly chamber works, including a Sicilienne for alto saxophone and piano.
