Pierre Monbeig
Pierre Monbeig ( born September 15, 1908 in Marissel; † September 22, 1987 in Cavalaire ) was a French geographer.
Monbeig a regionalist geographer in the French style, strongly influenced by Paul Vidal de la Blache was affected. He worked from 1935 to 1946 in Brazil, where he became a professor at the University of São Paulo and decisively participated in the creation of the local Geography Department. He was a doctor father of the first generation of geographers, who was trained at the same university, including Pasquale Petrone and Aziz Ab'Saber.
