Pierrefitte-Nestalas

Pierre -Nestalas is a commune with 1237 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Hautes -Pyrénées in the Midi-Pyrénées region. Administratively, it is assigned to the district Argelès -Gazost and the eponymous canton of Argelès -Gazost.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Pyrenees, in the historical county of Bigorre, about 17 kilometers south of Lourdes. Neighboring communities of Pierre -Nestalas are:

  • Adast in the north,
  • Beaucens in the Northeast,
  • Villelongue in the southeast
  • Soulom in the south,
  • Uz in the west and
  • Saint- Savin in the northwest.

Pierre -Nestalas located at the junction of the river Gave de Cauterets in the Gave de Pau, which is also called the Gave de Gavarni here.
