Piet de Visser (football manager)

Piet de Visser ( born September 23, 1934) is a Dutch football coach and scout.

Life

De Visser was coach at Sparta Rotterdam, FC Dordrecht, Telstar, De Graafschap, NEC Nijmegen ( 1974-1976 ), RWD Molenbeek (Belgium ), FC Den Haag, Roda JC Kerkrade, AZ Alkmaar and Willem II Tilburg. In the latter club he worked at the longest from 1985 to 1991. Under his leadership the club in 1987 rose to Eredivisie. For health reasons, he had to stop to coach football teams.

After his football coach period de Visser became head of the scouting department of PSV Eindhoven. After a breach of trust with PSV Minister Jan Reker, he announced in April 2008 that he should stop scouting. De Visser -actuated since 2000 22 transfers at PSV, including Heurelho da Silva Gomes Domingos Alexandre Rodrigo Dias da Costa and Mateja Kezman.

Since early 2005, de Visser is also a consultant for Chelsea. He is also a confidant of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
