Pieter-Dirk Uys
Pieter -Dirk Uys ( born September 28, 1945 in Cape Town ) is a South African satirist, comedian and author.
Life
Uys is the son of Afrikaners ( Boers ) and a born Berln Jewish. He grew up in the traditions of the South African Reformed Church, the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk ( NGK), on.
Uys was known as a drag artist in South Africa, especially in its role of Evita Bezuidenhout. As an author, he wrote several books. He was involved as an activist against the AIDS pandemic in South Africa, for which he received several honorary doctorates from universities in South Africa. Uys lives in Darling, South Africa.
