Pietro Baldassare

Pietro Baldassari (* before 1690 in Rome; † after 1768) was an Italian composer and priest.

About the life of Pietro Baldassari little is known. After 1720, he spent several years bandmaster of the Congregation of the Oratory of San Filippo Neri. He maintained relations with the imperial court in Vienna and probably to Bologna, where four of his oratorios were performed. Furthermore, some sonatas are narrated by Baldassari.
