Pietro Ferraris

Pietro Ferraris (* February 15, 1912 in Vercelli, Italy, † 11 October 1991 ) was an Italian football player.

Pietro Ferraris was not related or related by Attilio Ferraris. Since there are several players admitted his playing days with the family name Ferraris, it is immersed in statistics often than Ferraris II.

Career

In the club

Pietro Ferraris began his career at the biggest club of his hometown, Pro Vercelli, for which he on 10 November 1929 at the age of 17 years, in the 1:3 lay-down against Triestina celebrated his Serie A debut. After three seasons as a regular force at Pro Vercelli joined Ferraris II for the season 1932/33, to southern Italy to Napoli where he played for four years.

In the summer of 1936 Ferraris went for five years for Ambrosiana - Inter Milan. There he played in the storm on the side of the superstars of that time, Giuseppe Meazza, and scored 43 goals in 139 Serie A games. With Inter, he won his first two Scudetti, 1937/38 and 1939/40, and 1939, the Coppa Italia.

For the season 1941/42, left Pietro Ferraris Milan and returned to his home to Piedmont Torino. There he was in the following years an integral part of the team that nearly a decade dominated Italian football and as Grande Torino went down in history. 1942/43 he won with the Toro his third championship, then took because of the Second World War for two years no play operation in Serie A instead. The 1944 championship discharged war ended Ferraris II with Torino in second place. Following the resumption of the championship Pietro Ferraris won 1946-1948 his championship title number four to six in Torino.

In the summer of 1948 Ferraris went to Serie A rivals Novara Calcio, where he ended his active career in 1950. The move to Novara saved his life in all probability, because the crew of the Grande Torino was completely wiped out in the crash of Superga ( tragedy of Superga ) on May 4, 1949.

Overall Pietro Ferraris graduated in his career 469 series - A games, scoring 123 goals.

In the National Team

In his time at Napoli Pietro Ferraris was appointed coach Vittorio Pozzo first time in the national team. He debuted on February 17, 1935 in a 2-1 against France. In 1938 he was part of the Italian squad for the World Cup in France. In his only use in the tournament, 2-1 after extra time in the second round against Norway Pietro Ferraris was able to achieve a hit. With the 4-2 victory in the final against Hungary, he was with the Azzurri eventually wins the World Cup. Ferraris II was still playing for the national team until 1947, the last of his total of 14 internationals he played on May 11, 1947 against Hungary.
