Pietro Francisci

Pietro Francisci (actually Piero Francisci, born September 9, 1906 in Rome, † 1977 ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.

Life

Francisci was after a law degree since the early 1930s in the Italian film business operates. At first he turned mainly documentaries, before turning to the feature film. Among his documentary short films La montagna di fuoco stands out about the Vesuvius, which was photographed by Jack Cardiff. His first feature films were produced in complete independence; best known, however, are his historical films Attila, the Scourge of God ( with Anthony Quinn in the title role ) and The Amazing Adventures of Hercules ( with Steve Reeves ), the trigger of a Boomes of antique films, the so-called sandals films. His last films lacked early skills and flair.
