Pieve Tesino

Pieve Tesino is a comune in the Trentino region of Trentino -Alto Adige with 685 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012).

Geography

The town is located 38 km east of Trento in Tesinotal ( Bassa Valsugana e Tesino ), a Untertal Valsugana, rivers and Grigno Solcena. He is part of the valley community Comunità Valsugana e Tesino and lies on the Roman road Via Claudia Augusta.

The main town is divided ( called Colmelli ) in four sub-districts: Angara, Broccati, Grotto and Riba.

The municipal area includes the districts

  • Pradellano ( 862 meters altitude, is located 3 km northwest of the capital )
  • Malene ( located 4 km north of the capital )

Adjacent communities are Bieno, Canal San Bovo, Castello -Molina di Fiemme, Castello Tesino, Cavalese, Cinte Tesino, Ivano- Fracena, Ospedaletto, Panchià, Scurelle, Strigno Telve, Tesero, Ziano di Fiemme.

History

First, in 1882 discovered settlements date back to the Bronze Age. The proximity to the Roman road Via Claudia Augusta built around 50 BC settlements and castles in the area. Here is the place belonged to the Regio X Venetia et Histria ( 10 Veneto and Istria) of Regioni dell'Italia augustea. The eponymous Pieve was built around the year 125, but today it no longer exists. Since the year 750 the town was under the Bishop of Feltre. Italy's long-time Prime Minister Alcide De Gasperi was born in Pieve Tesino 1881, when the area was still part of Austria - Hungary.

Attractions

  • Pieve of the Assumption, 1184, consecrated in 1872 and restored church of older date, shows on the outside (south side) frescoes from the 16th century.
  • Pieve di San Sebastiano on the Colle di San Sebastiano, actually Chiesa dei Ss. Fabiano e Sebastiano, built in 1479 and 1883 restored church.
  • Museo Casa De Gasperi: The Italian State has his birthplace, which houses a museum since 18 August 2006, awarded the European Heritage Label. The opening speeches for the inauguration of the museum held, among other things Giulio Andreotti and Carlo Azeglio Ciampi. The museum was inspired by the museums of Europe's founding fathers such as Konrad Adenauer ( Foundation Chancellor Adenauer House in Rhöndorf ), Jean Monnet (La maison de Jean Monnet, Houjarray, part of Bazoches- sur- Guyonne, Yvelines ) and Robert Schuman ( European Centre Robert Schuman in Scy -Chazelles ).
  • Villa Daziaro, house and summer residence of the Dazario family just outside of the town center, was begun in 1865 and completed ten years later
  • Arboreto del Tesino, 2002 eröffneter Plant Park in the Colle Dane on the river Rio Solcena
