Pilâtre (crater)

64.37

Pilâtre is an impact crater on the far southwestern edge of the lunar front side, north of the large crater Hauser and northeast of Chappe. The rim is very badly eroded and the interior is furrowed by numerous strikes.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1991 after the French aviation pioneer Jean -François de Rozier Pilâtre.
