Pildammsparken

The Pildammspark, Swedish Pildammsparken, formerly Baltiska park, is Malmö's largest park.

The 45 -acre park surrounds a water reservoir of the 17th century. The pastures (Swedish: Pil ) were planted to secure the shores of the dam. The park was initially designed for the Baltic exhibition. A remnant of the exhibition is the royal pavilion, now called Margaretapavillon. The redesign of the park took place from 1920 to plans by the town planner Anders Nilsson and the Danish landscape architect Erik Erstad -Jørgensen, however, strongly modified by Erik Nilsson's successor Bülow- strokes.
