Pileni

Pileni is a small atoll with only an island in the southeastern province of Temotu the Solomon Islands. It is one of the outer islands of the Reef Islands in the northern part of the archipelago of the Santa Cruz Islands.

The only village Lavakena located on the west side of the island, facing the lagoon. The approximately 200 people counted population is Polynesian origin. The inhabitants speak a language which is expected to Samoan branch of the Polynesian languages. Pileni making it one of the out of the Polynesian triangle Polynesian enclaves.
