Pillsbury Company

C. A. Pillsbury and Company was an American food manufacturer based in Minneapolis. He was acquired in 1988 by Diageo PLC and sold in 2001 by Diageo to his former rival General Mills. Since then, there is only more to the brand Pillsbury. In Germany it is known primarily for the pops and baking products.

Charles Pillsbury founded his mill in 1869 in Minneapolis and built it within twelve years the world's largest wheat mill. 1959 Pillsbury developed on behalf of NASA, the Food Safety Concept Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points, which developed as a result become a global standard.

Known advertising figure and popular figure of Pillsbury is known as the " Backboy " well-known in Germany dough boy, a stylized Knetmännchen of batter that has been invented by the German -born Rudy Perz.
