Pim Jacobs

Willem Bernard " Pim " Jacobs ( born October 29, 1934 in Hilversum, † July 3, 1996 in Tienhoven ) was a Dutch pianist of modern jazz and mainstream jazz, which for many years with his trio companion to his wife, singer Rita Reys had.

Life and work

Jacobs was in the 1950s and 1960s alongside Rob Madna, Cees Slinger, Louis van Dijk (and later Rein de Graaff ) the most famous pianist of the Dutch modern jazz. In the 1950s he played in a trio of Wessel Ilcken and made after his death his own trio, with which he left his wife Rita Reys accompanied among others. Members of the ' Pim Jacobs Trio " were in course of time the drummer Cees See, guitarist Wim Overgaauw, his brother Ruud Jacobs and Peter Ypma.

From 1986 he was also regularly with Louis van Dijk and Pieter van Vollenhoven under the name " Gevleugelde vrienden " charity concerts. He was known in the Netherlands as a TV presenter; he hosted the music program " Music All In" and the game shows "how van de drie " and " Babbelonie ".

In 2004, Rita Reys, the CD " Beautiful Love - A tribute to Pim Jacobs " in memory of him out.

After Pim Jacobs Theatre and Convention Centre is named in Maarssen, the Leila Jacobs, daughter of Rita Reys and it is passed.
