Aminoguanidine is a derivative of guanidine, which (for example, tetracene, a bomb ) is used as an intermediate for producing pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and other chemical compounds. The compound is also tested in the medical field since it has an effect on certain aging processes in the human body. So it is used in the treatment of secondary damage of diabetes mellitus (inhibition of advanced glycation endproducts, the NO synthase or glycosylation).
