Pinellas Park is a city in Pinellas County in the U.S. state of Florida with 49 079 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Pinellas Park is located near the west coast of Florida, bordering the cities of Saint Petersburg, Largo and Kenneth City. The city is located about 20 km southwest of Tampa. It is part of the Tampa Bay area with about 2.7 million inhabitants.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 49 079 inhabitants distributed to 23,458 households. The population density was 1,220.9 inh. / Km ². 81.7 % of the population were white, 4.7% African American, 0.3% Native American and 7.3% Asian Americans. 3.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.7% in different ethnic groups. 10.7% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 32.4 % of all households lived in 26.9 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 60.3 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.32 persons and the average family size is 2.89 people.

21.8 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.2% were 20-39 years old, 28.8 % were 40-59 years old and 25.0 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 43 years. 48.6 % of the population were male and 51.4 % female.

The average annual income was $ 43,132, while 12.6 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 88.50 % of the population spoke Spanish 4.75% and 6.75 % had a different mother tongue.

Traffic

Pinellas Park is traversed or affected by the Interstate 275 from U.S. Highway 19 and the Florida State Roads 686, 688, 693 and 694. The St. Petersburg- Clearwater International Airport is directly adjacent to the north of the city.

Crime

The crime rate in 2010 was 444 points ( U.S. average: 266 points ) within the average range. There were two murders, 24 rapes, 68 robberies, 169 injuries, 471 burglaries, 2,207 thefts, 142 vehicle thefts and arsons ten.
