Pingtan Island

Haitan is a coastal island of Chinese prefecture-level city of Fuzhou and Pingtan main island of the circle. With 324 km ² area Haitan is the largest island of Fujian province and the fifth largest island in China. On the 29 km long and 19 km wide island of about 400,000 people.

A built in November 2010, five kilometers long prestressed concrete bridge connects the island to the mainland.

2009 Haitan was named due to its original natural attractions and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The island is popular for its long sandy beaches and good surfing opportunities with tourists.
