Pinhal Novo is a Portuguese Freguesia in a circle ( concelho ) Palmela with 24 975 (as at 30 June 2011) inhabitants to 54.4 km ², that is 459 per km ².

The village lies on the Península de Setúbal halfway between Lisbon and Setúbal.

It is located on two highways that connect Lisbon to the south, and has a new railway station, from where you can reach the Lisbon subway network since October 2004 in half an hour. Pinhal Novo is near the National Park arrabida has built a diversified infrastructure with shopping centers including Forum Montijo and the Freeport Alcochete. The city has the Pinhal Novo station on the main rail junction in the south of Lisbon. Here, the Linha do Sul meet the Linha do Alentejo as well as the suburban compound according to Barreiro and the now disused connection Ramal do Montijo.

The city is growing strong and will have developed in a few years from a small village to a 40,000 - inhabitant city. It benefits from its new infrastructure; because of the quality of life of large buildings are not allowed.
