Pinkas Braun

Pinkas Braun (born 7 January 1923 in Zurich, † June 24, 2008 in Munich) was a Swiss actor, theater director, radio speaker and translator and spokesman of audio books.

Career

Brown grew up as the child of Jewish immigrants living in Switzerland, and broke with 16 years a businessman from teaching to become an actor. He received his acting training at the Schauspielhaus Zurich ( Stage Studio), where he was engaged from 1948 to 1956. The craft of directing he learned in parallel as an assistant to Bert Brecht, in Zurich brought the world premiere of his play Puntila and his Man Matti on stage in 1948. Brown went on many tours, which was launched by him " boy troupe of the theater ". He then played at theaters in Austria, Germany and Israel.

Brown was a frequent film and television actor, mostly as a shady character. In the cinema, he has become known primarily for his roles in the Edgar Wallace films and their epigones. Brown had two children from two marriages. From a relationship with Karin Kernke daughter Judith comes. Both are or were working as actresses. With his partner Ingrid Resch whom he shared a diverse and years of artistic collaboration in radio plays, poetry readings, on stage and in front of the camera. He died after a long illness and was buried in the cemetery of the Liberal Jewish community in Munich.
