Pinnow

Pinnow is a municipality in the southeast of the district Uckermark in Brandenburg ( Germany ). In the village there is the administrative headquarters of the Office Or catfish, members of the other four municipalities.

Geography

The community Pinnow is located between the cities Uckermark Schwedt / Oder and Angermuende. Characteristic of the ground moraine are the kuppigen hills and the numerous partially endorheic lakes in the valleys, of which the Felchowsee, which is a nature reserve, would be emphasized. Area Pinnows is characterized by intensive agriculture and many wind turbines.

History

The scale than Angersdorf Pinnow monastery was first mentioned in 1354. In addition to the neighboring Felchow it was long in the possession of the Lords of Winter field.

Characteristic of the recent history of the place was the establishment of a munitions factory in 1931, Appendices and bunkers were blown up after 1945. The bunker remains were found in 1968 in the forest of the object. The National People 's Army (NPA ) of the DDR operation here until 1990, the repair work Pinnow ( IWP ). The name Pinnow is an older term and meant earlier Wurzelkloben.
