Pinturicchio

Pinturicchio (* um 1454 in Perugia, † December 11, 1513 in Siena, Bernardino di Betto di Biagio actually ) was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance.

Life and work

Pinturicchio was a pupil of Perugino, to which it closely modeled with his works. As his assistant he was involved in the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel in Rome.

He was next to Perugino the main proponent of the Umbrian school. Several works, as the first painter Pinturicchio was, were later the as yet undetermined painter associated with the Notnamen master of Griselda, whose style which was very close by Pinturicchio.
