The Pionir hall or Hala Pionir ( Serbian Cyrillic Хала Пионир is a multi-purpose hall in the north of the Serbian capital Belgrade. It is home to the three basketball clubs KK Partizan Belgrade, KK Red Star Belgrade and OKK Belgrade.

History

The hall was opened on 24 May 1973 and is part of the sports and leisure center Tašmajdan (Serbian Спортско - рекреациони центар Ташмајдан / Sportsko - rekreativni centar Tašmajdan ) in the district of Belgrade Palilula in Tašmajdan Park. At that opened in 1958, facilities include, inter alia, the stadium Tašmajdan, an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, a restaurant and the hotel Tas, a bowling alley, a gym and the Ledena dvorana Pionir. The Hala Pionir was until the opening of the Belgrade Arena 2004, the largest event hall in the city.

The arena was the venue for sporting events over the years, mainly basketball, and concerts. In 1977, the finals of the European Basketball Champions' Cup between Maccabi Tel Aviv from Israel and the Italians Mobilgirgi Varese took place. Maccabi beat Varese with 78:77 points. The finale in the Saporta Cup in 1998 was awarded to Belgrade. The Lithuanian club Zalgiris Kaunas defeated the Italian representatives Stefanel Milan with 82:67 points. In the Eurobasket 2005 Group C were discharged with the eventual winners Greece, Slovenia, France and Bosnia and Herzegovina in the arena round games. 2011 was the main venue hall, including the semi-finals and the final, the European Volleyball Championship of the ladies. The hall was one of five venues of the Men's Handball Championship 2012, and one of the four European Handball Championship Women, 2012.
