Piotr Cywiński

Piotr MA Cywiński ( born April 16, 1972 in Warsaw, Polish: Warszawa) is a member of the International Auschwitz Council. Since September 2006 he has directed the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

Life

Piotr Cywiński was born as the son of Professor Bohdan Cywiński. Many years of his life were spent in Switzerland and France with his father, who had gone into exile for political reasons. He studied history and was, inter alia, European Chairman of the World Federation of Catholic academics and artists, " Pax Romana ".

Former Polish Foreign Minister and Ambassador to Vienna Władysław Bartoszewski took Cywiński in 2000 as a secretary in the International Auschwitz Council. Since 2006 he is the director of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.
