Piotr Rubik

Piotr Rubik ( born September 3, 1968 in Warsaw) is a Polish composer of pop, film and theater music, and a cellist.

Rubik began at the age of seven years playing the cello. After graduating from a music school he studied cello at the Music Academy in Warsaw. Later he was a member of the orchestra Jeunesse Musicales International and studied film music composition in Siena, Italy, where Ennio Morricone was one of his teachers. Getting fame he achieved in Poland with pop compositions for Edyta Górniak and as a producer for artists such as Tytus Wojnowicz and Michał Bajor. In 2001 he composed the promotional song for the remake of Quo Vadis by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

He produced music albums of artists Tytus Wojnowicz, Małgorzata Walewska, Katarzyna Skrzynecka, Michał Bajor and Georgina Tarasiuk. He also composed the song " Dotyk " ( " contact " ) of the Polish singer Edyta Górniak. He is also the composer of the song " Dove vai? ", Which is to promote the film "Quo Vadis " by Jerzy Kawalerowicz.

Among his most important work was the oratorio Tu Es Petrus, which he published in memory of Pope John Paul II 's death in 2005. It is the second in a trilogy of oratorios, titled Tryptyk Świętokrzyski. The CD recordings of his oratorios have won several awards in Poland and among the best-selling CDs of recent years in Poland.

Since June 2008, Piotr Rubik is married to the Polish fashion model Agata Paskudzka. In May 2009, their daughter Helena was born.
