Pip Karmel

Pip Karmel ( born March 27, 1963 in Adelaide ) is an Australian film editor, screenwriter and director.

Life

Carmel started her career in the film business mid-1980s. She studied at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School and turned in this period, several short films, for which she also wrote the screenplays. From 1988 to 2007 she worked as an editor for director Scott Hicks. In 1999, she made her film debut with Me, Myself, I, for which she was nominated for two AFI Award.

In 1997, she was honored for her work on Shine - nominated in Light for the Academy Award for Best Editing. For this film she won an AFI Award and was also nominated for the BAFTA Film Award and the Eddie Award.
