Pipe fitting

Pipe joints or pipe connections are used to connect pipes to pipe sections and pipe fittings.

Depending on the operational requirements ( releasable or permanent connection ), the operating conditions ( low or high pressure or low or high temperature), and the material of the pipe sections and fittings ( weldable or non weldable material) must be selected, the appropriate and suitable pipe connection.

Kinds of pipe fittings and their applications

  • Welds - possible for all pressures and temperatures
  • Flange connections - limited for high pressures, temperatures
  • Screw - for medium pressures and temperatures
  • Socket joints - for low pressures and temperatures
  • Cuff seals - by means of the so-called Canada cuff for low pressures and temperatures for sewer pipes, with cuff seals (eg Flex Seal) for pipes with different diameters and / or material can be joined.
  • Connectors - are generally used in the assembly of sewers.
