Pirate Party Berlin

The Pirate Party Berlin is the national association of the Pirate Party in Berlin, Germany and was the first represented in a state parliament National Association of pirates. On 1 March 2014, Christopher Lauer was elected the new state chairman. The association is divided into so-called Crews, the organizing units are defined at the local level than yourself. Thematic work is done in so-called squads. Since 2010, the national association uses the software LiquidFeedback for intra-party decision-making.

History

The national association was founded on 30 December 2006. In the 2009 federal election, the Pirate Party in Berlin had achieved its best results at the country level to 3.4 percent of the vote. In the election to the House of Berlin in 2011, she moved with the top candidate Andreas Baum with 8.9 percent of the vote for the first time in a country's parliament.

Programmatic

One of the main concerns of the Pirate Party at the country level is the transparency of politics and public administration. The meetings of the Group in the House of Representatives will be streamed live on the internet and according to available for download.

The Berlin Pirate Party advocates further the promotion of alternative housing projects and cultural institutions as well as the preservation of inner-city open space and turns it against the so-called "Berlin line of reason." The party is in favor of a ticket -less transport in the capital. The referendum on the Disclosure of partial privatization contracts at the Berlin Water Works is supported by the pirates. For schools in Berlin the party calls for an ethics lessons supplementary module for learning drugs maturity. The limitation of the voting age in elections to the Berlin House of Representatives wants to abolish the party. On welfare are devoted three chapters of the basic program.

Member of the House of Representatives

In the House of Representatives every 15 selected pirates ( fourteen men and one woman) were on their mandate. The party with 6.6 percent the lowest proportion of women represented in the House of Representatives fractions.

Because of double candidacies three seats could not be filled in the Borough Assembly of Friedrichshain- Kreuzberg. The result was that the party could not take a city council post that would have her admitted there according to the distribution of seats.

MPs in Borough Assemblies

The Pirate Party was represented to February 2014 in all twelve borough assemblies. In five BVV the party could not fully occupy its rightful seats because not enough candidates were on the district nominations.
