Pirate Party (France)

The Parti Pirate (PP ) is a political party in France. She was born in 2006 in protest against the DADVSI law in accordance with the Swedish Piratpartiet. It is part of the international movement of Pirate Parties and Pirate Parties International member. The party participated in 2009 for the first time in elections to the French Parliament.

The PP was founded on 21 June 2006 and officially registered on April 4, 2009. The party maintains a youth organization under the name Parti Pirate Jeunes ( PPJ ), also Les Jeunes du Parti Pirate called.

History

The Parti Pirate was born in 2006 in protest against DADSVI, the Law on Copyright and Related Rights in the Information Society. Was inspired the founding of the Swedish Piratpartiet that emerged in early 2006. The party organized the protest against the DADSVI - law, but did not occur for the time being for election. 2007, there were tensions within the party, as a result, the Parti Pirate Français Canal Historique ( PPFCH ) seceded. In the summer of 2009, however, the two parties united again. In the same year, the HADOPI law was discussed against copyright infringement on the Internet, in consequence of which the learned Parti Pirate further feed. Short term was 2009, another Pirate Party under the name Parti Pirate Français ( PPF), which had been founded by a student at the elite university IEP de Paris. The PP held its first meeting of 2009 on elections. In the by-elections in the constituency of the department of Yvelines 10 on September 20, their candidate Maxime Rouquet reached 2.08% of the vote. In the re -elections on July 4th 2010 in the same constituency, he won 0.66 %.

In the parliamentary elections in June 2012, the party joined with 101 candidates. They reached an average of 0.85%. The best results were achieved in Haut- Rhin 1 as well as abroad constituency 7 ( Germany ) with 2.85%.
