Pirate Party of Canada

The Pirate Party of Canada (French Parti Pirate du Canada ), abbreviated PPCA, is a political party in Canada. The PPCA was founded in June 2009 as part of the international movement of Pirate Parties. Focal points of the party are a copyright reform and open government. The party was officially registered on 12 April 2010. On November 29, 2010, she first appeared in by-election to the Canadian House and therefore received official party status.

The PPCA first met with a candidate at the time of election to the Canadian House of Commons in the constituency of Winnipeg North. Your candidate Jeff Coleman reached 0.6 % of the votes and remained only slightly below the result of the green candidate. At the regular general election on May 2, 2011, the PPCA competed in 10 constituencies and reached there results from 0.33 % to 1.08 %, averaging 0.67 %.

Other activities

Since 27 September 2009, the PPCA has a BitTorrent tracker. Mentioned on the CAPT or Captain Tracker is only being distributed music under Creative Commons license. The PPCA advertises for its presentation of the proliferation of online media.

Pirate Party Radio

Pirate Party Radio is the official radio show of the PPCA, the Pirate Party UK and the United States Pirate Party. The show will be broadcast live weekly on Thursday.
